Seventy Years, Year by Year
The Eddins family story, from Memphis to Stemmons Freeway.

1956
A Legendary Beginning
Roy Eddins moves his family from Memphis to Dallas in June 1956 to run a struggling dealership, and turns it around in just two months with standout customer service.

1960
Next Door to Friendly
Roy becomes part owner and moves the dealership to Lemmon and Inwood, then the “far north” of Dallas, right next to a brand-new Chevrolet store: Friendly Chevrolet.

1965
The Next Generation
Roy’s 14-year-old son, Mark Eddins, starts working summers in the parts department, just as his father had.

1970
The Eddins Family Buys Friendly
In September 1970, with help from Mr. Hutton, Roy purchases Friendly Chevrolet and turns it around with the same customer-first service.

1973
Mark Comes Aboard
Mark joins Friendly full-time and works his way through every position and department in the dealership.

1979
A New General Manager
Mark becomes General Manager, and Friendly Chevrolet thrives through the ’70s and ’80s under his leadership.

1993
Room to Grow
Friendly begins a five-year plan that leads to its current home: a 14-acre facility right off I-35 (Stemmons Freeway) at Inwood Road.

GM Dealer of the Year
Friendly is named General Motors Dealer of the Year 12 times, in 2011, 2012, 2014 and every year from 2016 through 2024.

A Complete Renovation
A top-to-bottom renovation brings new technology, updated waiting areas and service bays, the Corvette Café, and the launch of Concierge Plus+.

Promotion Period & How to Enter
Promotion begins October 5, 2026 and ends November 12, 2026 (“Promotion Period”). To enter, complete the entry form on this page. Limit 1 entry per person during the Promotion Period. Agreeing to receive marketing communications is optional and is not required to enter or win.
Drawing & Odds
